Project Description

Cabrillo Marina, Port of Los Angeles

Cal-Coast successfully developed a master plan with the Los Angeles Harbor Department for hotel, office, retail and restaurants as the center piece for the Department’s new Cabrillo Marina complex. Structured as a land lease on an 8 acre site in the Cabrillo Beach area the development consisted of four phases: a 226-room Doubletree hotel; 3 restaurants; ball room, banquet and meeting facilities; and 22,000 square feet of marina retail space with 48 boat slips. Accommodating both large and small recreational vessels, the Marina has 885 permanent boat slips ranging from 25 to 75 feet long. The project updated a decades-old marina facility and added about a mile of public waterfront promenade. Construction of the marina began in 2009 and was completed in 2011 at a total cost of $125M, making it both the largest LA Waterfront and non-terminal construction project at the Port of Los Angeles.
